CLASS DESCRIPTIONS
 
 
LADIES / GIRLS POLYNESIAN
( Various Ages)
 
HULA: Our Hula class is dedicated to just Hawaiian Hula and is open to ages 12 and up. Beginners are Welcome. This class does perform at various events.
 
VAHINE TOA: Polynesian Dance with an emphasis on Tahitian/Cook Island. This class was originally set up as our "Mommas" class so is a bit slower in pace. Ages 20 and up and Beginners are welcome. This class does perform at various events
 
MINI KEIKI: Our youngest little girls ages 3-5. They learn Polynesian dance in a very Kid friendly atmosphere. Through dance and play, they do absorb a lot of movement and body coordination. This class does perform occasionally.
KEIKI: A more structured class for our Little Girls ages 6-10. They learn Tahitian & Hula, and occsionally other Polynesian dances. This class does perform at various events.
 
GIRLS TAHITIAN / POLYNESIAN
(AGES 11 and Up)
 
BASICS: All girls wanting to learn Tahitian/Polynesian dance will start in this class. It is a multi week class of learning the very basics of dance through direct instruction and drills. This class does not perform at events. Once the girls master the basics, they will be evaluated and eventually move on to either the Tamahine or Vahine class.
 
TAMAHINE (Jr Girls): Once you have gone through both Basics classes, have been evaluated by our staff that you are ready, and are ages 11-15, you can move into this advanced class. Here the girls learn much more complicated Choreography along with learning many other dances from Polynesia. This group is one of our main performing groups at various Events.
 
VAHINE (Sr Girls): Once you have gone through both Basics classes, have been evaluated by our staff that you are ready, and are ages 16 and Up, you can move into this advanced class. Here the girls learn much more complicated Choreography along with learning many other dances from Polynesia. This group is one of our main performing groups at various Events.
 
DRILLS CLASS:  This is a conditioning course for advanced dancers (from vahine & tamahine). This hour long class will review basic steps and apply those steps to Warm-ups and Drills
 
 
BOYS TAHITIAN / POLYNESIAN
(AGES 5 and Up)
 
TAMAROA (Jr Boys): This class will go from Beginner to Advanced for boys ages 5- 12. They will learn all aspects of Polynesian Dance
 
TANE (Sr Boys): This class will go from Beginner to Advanced for boys 13 and up. They will learn all aspects of Polynsisan Dance

TUITION COSTS and FEES

  PAYMENT INFORMATION
   
  All Tuition is due the 1st of each month paid in Advance with no refunds
  Tuition is past due after the 3rd of each month and a late fee of $10 will need to be added the first week
  An additional $5 will be added each additional week that tuition is not paid in full
   
  2018: We accept and prefer cash and checks
  A credit card can be used but you must pay the PayPal fees of 2.7% (if swiped)
  We can also send you a monthly invoice to your email with PayPal fees of 2.9% + $0.40
  (Invoices are sent on the 1st of each month and are due on the third. If the payment is late we will add the late fees)
   
  BEGINNING IN 2019
  We will begin using a Members Portal system and payments will be made by ACH (Automatic Check Handling) no fee
  OR by Credit Card with an extra fee of 2.75% paid ONLINE
  We will no longer accept Checks - Preference will be Auto Pay directly from your checking account
  All members will be expected to use AUTOPAY**
  **We will accept Cash if there are special needs - must be approved by our owners.
  Invoices will no longer be sent
   
  ONLINE REGISTRATION
  Beginning in January of 2019

  CLASS TRY-OUTS
   
  You may come to any class on Monday or Tuesdays and try it out to see if you like it or not. You do not need an appointment.
  Just come in before the start of the class and tell a staff member you wish to try out a class
  If you try out the class and decide it's just not for you, then the class is free
  If you wish to join our membership after taking the class, please see Greg Young (or a staff member) to get an application
  You can take the application home and think about and then (hopefully) you will come back the next week.

We will give you a black pareo when you join. You will be expected to wear a Black Top and the Black Pareo
 
Vahine Toa (Ladies Tahitian), Keiki: Black t-shirt, tank top, or tube top & Black Pareo
Hula: Black t-shirt prefered, Pa'o Skirt which is provided or bring your own
BASICS, Tamahine, Vahine, and Competition classes: Black Sports Bra & Black Pareo
Boys: Black T-Shirt, Loose (Box) Shorts
(In winter you will be allowed to warm-up with a jacket or Tevakanui Shirt on)
 
No socks (except during warm-up in winter), No Jewelery
